The Intro to RMF for Program Managers course is a high-level, 2-day executive level training which provides an introduction to Risk Management Framework (RMF), including a review of the laws, policy, and regulations that govern the process, the roles and responsibilities associated with the RMF, introducing risk, the 6 steps, planning for an assessment, and the documentation and artifacts required. It will primarily focus on the PM’s role on the RMF process and the impact that it can have to the cost, timeline and authorization to operate (ATO).

Description

The Intro to RMF for Program Managers course is a high-level, 2-day executive level training which provides an introduction to Risk Management Framework (RMF), including a review of the laws, policy, and regulations that govern the process, the roles and responsibilities associated with the RMF, introducing risk, the 6 steps, planning for an assessment, and the documentation and artifacts required. It will primarily focus on the PM’s role on the RMF process and the impact that it can have to the cost, timeline and authorization to operate (ATO).

 

 Modules

o   Module 1 – Critical Definitions

o   Module 2 – The Laws, Policies and Guidance

o   Module 3 – Introducing Risk

o   Module 4 – Roles and Responsibilities

o   Module 5 – Summary of RMF Tasks

o   Module 6 – Secure Development Lifecycle

 

This course includes the following takeaway items: A SCS notebook and CD that includes our training presentation, a comprehensive set of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) – DoD approved templates, as well as copies of the guidelines, instructions, standards presented in class.

 

All students will be provided one voucher for the Certified Expert Program Manager (CEPM) ® Certification Exam. After passing our online exam you can earn your Certified Expert Program Manager (CEPM) ® Certification. Students must possess at least 5 years relevant experience in security engineering, management, or technology in order to obtain the Certified Expert certificate. Those that pass the test, but do not possess the requisite experience, will be awarded the Associate Expert certificate. Once they gain the required experience, they may resubmit for the Certified Expert certificate.

 

Certification:

Every student participating in this course will receive a Certificate for successful participation in the course, which will allow you to claim hours of Continuous Professional Experience for your existing certifications.
